I don’t know what would be noteworthy to write about in this post, but nevertheless, I will do my best.
COVID Vaccine Shots
So this week, my wife and I got our first of two COVID vaccine shots. I wasn’t too sure on whether or not I personally wanted to do it. But after some mild research, I didn’t feel it was a terrible thing to get. So this past Saturday, we got the first shot. We should be getting our second shot about a month from now. After that, it supposedly takes about two weeks to be fully immunized.
I have been experiencing some unfortunate side effects, like diarrhea, but that has been the extent of it. Besides that, we’ll see how effective it is, and what it means for wearing masks, going forward.
Waiting Game
Another week has passed, and I’m still waiting on my special diabetic shoes to get here. I’ve spent nearly a year in a cast; yet, the next week or so will feel like the longest part of the journey. I did go to wound care this past Friday, and the feet are still looking good. So no trouble there. The staff has joked about not knowing what to do when I don’t show up for my weekly visits. As friendly as they all have been, I am so ready to get into my new shoes and get back to some sort of normal life. No more walking so precariously in a double cast. Been there, done that, and I’m ready to get past this ordeal.
One Year
So I mentioned last week that we were coming up on an anniversary of having Lulu. This past Thursday was that year mark. She has been a welcomed addition to our family. We didn’t do anything too special, but we did take her to the doggy park a couple of times. She seems that she’s still being a bit antisocial while she’s there, but she’s definitely bonding with us, even more so. She has taken it upon herself to “protect me” a lot lately. Not sure why, but we’ve been working with a trainer to help our doggie break the habit. Will keep you posted on how that goes.
Conclusion
So that’s it for this week. When I finally get the new shoes, Ill post pics of them. The pic above aren’t them, but they look similar.
